Football for Social Change
All our program addresses the 17 UN Global sustainable Goals (SDGs}. With football, the organization is able to address disparities in access and utilization of sexual and reproductive health information, communication, education and services by adolescents. It’s blamed for contributing to unintended pregnancies, abortion, STI infections, gender-based violence, early marriage & deaths in Eastern Uganda.
Gender inequalities and gender-based violence prevent adolescent girls and young women from being able to protect themselves against HIV. Equally, adolescent girls and young women are often not able to access treatment, have no final say on matters related to their own health care. Punitive and age restrictive laws and policies present barriers to young women accessing health services too.
